If we find visible mold growth at assessment, we'll tell you so on the spot and stop there: active mold in a car needs a remediation specialist, and running ozone over it would mask the symptom while the colony keeps growing. With the cabin cleaned and closed, an ozone generator runs a timed cycle — typically 30–45 minutes — on recirculation, pushing ozone through the vents, ducting, foam and fabric where odor molecules hide.
Ozone must not be breathed at treatment concentrations, so the car then airs out with doors open until levels fall — the crew handles it and hands the car back only when it smells like nothing at all. That's the goal: not "masked", nothing.
You bought it, it's mechanically great, and it carries the previous owner around in the vents — a blend of old food, dog and mystery. If the previous owner smoked, say so when you book — smoke takes the most thorough source pass and occasionally a second ozone cycle, and we'd rather plan for it than surprise you.

Not if the source came out — that's why we clean before we treat, and why this add-on pairs with Complete or Executive rather than running ozone alone. The honest exceptions: a source we couldn't reach (inside seat foam after a major spill) or a habit that continues (smoking in the car re-creates the film). If it rebounds because our source work missed, the re-do is free.

But if we find visible mold growth at assessment, we stop and tell you straight: that's remediation work for a specialist, not an ozone job, and treating over it would only hide the problem. Mustiness with no visible growth is usually moisture — we clean, dry and treat, and we'll point out where the water is getting in if we can see it.
