We want anyone to be able to book a car detail without fighting the website. This page says where we are actually up to, including what is not right yet.
What we are aiming for
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, level AA. That is the target, not a claim: this site has not been independently audited, so we are not going to tell you it conforms. When it has been tested properly we will say so here, with the date and who did it.
What is in place
- Pages are built from real headings, lists and landmarks rather than styled boxes, so screen readers and reader modes get a sensible structure.
- Text sits on backgrounds chosen for contrast, and the page reflows down to a phone-width screen without a horizontal scrollbar.
- Text scales when you zoom the browser; nothing is baked into an image.
- Forms have real labels attached to their fields, not placeholder text pretending to be one.
- Images that carry meaning have alt text.
- You can book entirely in writing. There is no phone step you have to get through, which for some people is the accessibility feature that matters most.
What we know is not right yet
Being specific is more useful to you than a reassurance:
- There is no "skip to content" link, so keyboard users have to tab through the navigation on every page.
- The booking flow has not been tested end to end with a screen reader.
- The FAQ sections on our city pages use an expand-and-collapse control that has not been verified against assistive technology.
- Focus outlines are inconsistent in places — clear on form fields, less obvious on some links and buttons.
- We have not tested against a screen magnifier or voice control.
These are on the list. We would rather publish the list than a badge.
Getting the service without the website
If the site is in your way, email hello@donedetail.ca with the vehicle, the address and roughly when suits you, and a person will set the booking up and send you the confirmation. That route is always open and it is not a lesser service.
Tell us about anything that would make the visit itself work better — where to meet you, how you would like to be contacted, or anything about the property the detailer should know. It goes on the job so you do not have to explain it twice.
Telling us about a problem
If something on this site does not work for you, email hello@donedetail.ca with the page you were on and what happened. You do not need to know the technical term for it — "the menu will not open with the keyboard" is a perfectly good bug report. We will reply, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a quick fix or a longer one.
