These terms cover booking and paying for a detail with Done Detail Inc. Booking means you accept them. They are meant to be short enough to actually read.
What we do
We clean vehicles at your home or workplace. The van is self-contained — it brings its own water, power and wastewater reclaim — so it needs a legal parking space next to the vehicle and nothing else from you. Every job reclaims its wash water and disposes to sanitary sewer only.
Who does the work
Detailing is carried out by independent subcontractors, not employees. They are offered jobs and accept or decline them, they are paid per completed job, and they carry their own insurance and WorkSafeBC clearance. Done Detail is responsible to you for the service you booked.
Booking and prices
- Prices are shown in Canadian dollars before GST and applicable provincial tax. The exact figure for your vehicle, including any add-ons, is shown before you confirm — never after the work.
- Price depends on vehicle size. SUVs and crossovers cost more than sedans; trucks, vans and three-row vehicles more again. The booking form applies this for you.
- Bookings need a minimum of 12 hours' notice, so the job can be offered to a detailer and accepted.
- You get a one-hour arrival window, not a fixed minute. Traffic is real.
- On larger bookings a deposit may be taken at the time of booking. If one applies it is shown in the booking form before you confirm, and it comes off the final total.
Paying
You save a card when you book, through Stripe. Nothing is charged then. The card is charged when the work is finished. We never see or store your card number. Stripe is our only payment processor.
Changing or cancelling
- Change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your window starts — just reply to your confirmation email.
- Cancel later than that, or turn a detailer away on arrival, and we may charge a late-cancellation fee of up to 25% of the booking subtotal. It is a judgement call, not an automatic penalty — a genuine emergency is a genuine emergency, and we would rather you told us.
- If we cancel on you, you pay nothing. If weather makes the work impossible or unsafe we will say so and rebook.
Access, and what happens when there is none
We need to reach the vehicle: a legal parking space beside it, keys or access if the interior is being done, and enough room to work around it. If a detailer arrives and cannot get to the vehicle — it is boxed in, gone, or inaccessible — that is recorded as a failed visit and may be charged as a late cancellation. Tell us about tight underground parking, height limits or gated entries when you book and we will plan for it.
What we will not do
Some things cannot be fixed by cleaning, and we would rather say so up front than take your money. We do not:
- Guarantee removal of stains, odours, scratches or etching that have set into a surface. We will tell you what is realistic before we start.
- Work on a vehicle that is unsafe, unlawfully parked, or where we would be breaking a building's rules to do it.
- Accept liability for pre-existing damage, loose or failing trim, aftermarket parts that come away under normal cleaning, or items left inside the vehicle. Please take valuables out.
If something goes wrong
Tell us within 48 hours at hello@donedetail.ca with your booking reference and photographs. If we got it wrong we will come back and put it right; if that is not possible we will refund the affected part of the job. That is the first remedy and usually the last one anybody needs.
Where the law allows us to limit liability, our liability for any booking is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under British Columbia consumer protection law, which you keep regardless of what this page says.
Reaching us
Email hello@donedetail.ca. We have no customer phone line, deliberately — everything runs through email and text so there is always a written record of what was agreed, which protects you as much as us.
The legal bits
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. If we change them, the reviewed date at the top changes; the terms that apply to your booking are the ones published when you booked.
