Done Detail Inc. runs a mobile car detailing service. This policy explains what we collect when you book, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
Only what a detailer needs to find your vehicle and clean it, and what we need to charge you for it.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name and email | To confirm the booking and send you the receipt. |
| Your mobile number | Job messages only — confirmation, and a text when the detailer is on the way. |
| The service address and any parking note | The van has to physically get to the vehicle. |
| Vehicle make, model, year, colour and plate | So the detailer works on the right car, and so the price matches its size. |
| What you booked and what it cost | To do the work and keep the accounting records the law requires. |
| Anything you write to us | So we can answer, and so the next person picking it up has the history. |
Payments — we never see your card
Card details are collected by Stripe and never pass through our systems. We hold a Stripe reference to your saved payment method, not a card number, and we cannot see the full number at any point. Your card is charged when the work is finished, not when you book. Stripe processes payments under its own privacy policy.
Who else sees your details
- The detailer doing your job. Detailing work is delivered by independent subcontractors. The one assigned to your booking sees your name, the address, the access notes and the vehicle, because that is the job. They do not get your payment details.
- Stripe, for payment.
- Our email and SMS providers, to deliver the messages about your booking.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Analytics and the website itself
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. That places Google's analytics cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address and what you looked at. If you would rather not be counted, a browser-level blocker or Google's own opt-out add-on will stop it, and nothing on the site will break.
Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We use no advertising pixels, no session recording and no cross-site tracking.
Marketing
We only send offers or reminders if you opted in when booking. Every one of them has an unsubscribe, and job messages about a booking you have made are sent regardless — those are not marketing, they are how you find out a van is on its way.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Canadian tax and business-record rules require, currently six years. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. If you ask us to delete your information we will remove what we are not legally required to keep, and tell you plainly what is left and why.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA, and British Columbia's PIPA) you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent to marketing, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@donedetail.ca and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security, honestly stated
The site runs over HTTPS, payment card data never reaches us, and access to the booking system is restricted and logged. No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than claim otherwise. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Children
This is a service for vehicle owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will change the reviewed date at the top and, for anything significant, tell customers directly rather than hoping they re-read the page.
